The Village of Lesterps

The village in which our cottage is situated has a thriving community centred around the historical medieval village square which is typically French with spaces for parking alongside an area to play La Boule or Petanque as well as a shaded area outside the bar for you to relax.    Also around this square are Les Tilleuls the bar and restaurant which serves delicious French cooking but which also has occasional themed evenings such as Mexican or Indian;  the grocery shop where you are guaranteed a warm welcome from Brigitte and Isabelle who will serve you with your daily bread as well as order you English newspapers during your stay; the butchers shop which has great meat sourced locally; and the post office.

Lesterps is ideal for a totally relaxing holiday surrounded by beautiful buildings and countryside.    If you like to walk or cycle there is plenty of opportunity for both but if you just want to relax in our garden, then you will find it peaceful, attractive and private.

Several English families have settled in and around the village and, like us, there are a few who use it as a place to escape from busy lives in England during holiday times.  We have experienced first hand a real French welcome from the residents both at social occasions which are open to all and in our everyday life in the village.

Our gallery of photographs shows how pretty Lesterps is and how close it is to some stunning scenery.   It is a rural location but, with easy access to larger towns and all the facilities they have such as banks and supermarkets, we feel that it is ideally placed for a holiday away from it all.
